That’s right! My husband and I just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! I can’t believe our first married year has gone by so quickly. I can remember our wedding day so clearly, as if it was just a month or two ago. So much has happened to us in this first year of marriage. I am so thankful to have such an awesome man by my side!
We found out I was pregnant in February with our second child. Now we know that I am having another boy and I am finally over 30 weeks! We also traded in my truck for a more “family friendly” vehicle. It was hard for me to part with my Tacoma, as we had about 80,000 miles together, but I love my new Jeep and am happy it will comfortably fit our whole family!
We also decided to sell our mobile home and look for a bigger house with some land. We got lucky and found a beautiful Amish built home on a few acres in a small country town. We’re so excited and can’t wait to close so we can get settled before the baby arrives!
I feel so blessed that we have got to experience so much in such a short amount of time, and especially in our first year as husband and wife. With that, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to an anniversary vacation since we don’t get much free time for ourselves, and it was well worth it! We vacationed in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania at the Paradise Stream Resort. Also known as the honeymoon capital of the world! 😉
I found the resort while skimming Groupon, and decided to book the trip as our anniversary/ baby moon gift. It was wonderful! We splurged and booked a Champagne Tower Suite, complete with a jetted champagne glass tub and heart shaped indoor pool!
It was such a relaxing experience. The pool room also had a sauna and massage table, which were accessible just off the living room of the suite. The second floor housed the bedroom, bathroom, and the entrance to the jetted champagne glass tub. Above the champagne tower, as well as the bed, were LED starlight panels that I told my husband I want installed in our new master bedroom (LOL). Not only were the rooms pretty amazing, the food package was also wonderful! We were treated with a buffet style breakfast of scrambled eggs, fluffy french toast, bacon, sausage and fruit, and a plated dinner of your choice from a small menu. Some of the choices we ordered included salmon wellington, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, and chicken and roasted vegetable alfredo. The food was great, and if you didn’t love what you ordered they allowed you to order again at no charge. Dessert was also included, which was my favorite part!
The resort also provided plenty of activities. There was an outdoor pool, putt-putt course, pond with fishing and boating available, archery, basketball, and hiking. For indoor activities the resort also had an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a game room. They offered nightly live entertainment at the nightclub which was connected to the dining room. If you are looking for a vacation that you don’t have to travel to find something to do, I highly recommend Paradise Stream! We stayed on the resort most of the three days. We did take a few hours out of one of our days to visit the outlet mall which was a short 10 minute drive from the resort. Other than that, we felt that we had plenty to do on the resort and were very pleased with our stay!
Now we’re looking forward to our next year of marriage, and the many exciting things that are coming our way!
Have a loveliegh day!
