Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all the great men out there that have been blessed with the role of being a father.

I am one lucky girl to have a hard working, loving, supportive father in my life and appreciate him more than words can express. He has worked hard his entire life, and harder once he became a father, to provide for our family. I was lucky enough to have him encourage me into playing sports in high school, and cheer me on at every game and meet that I participated in. Even if he couldn’t be there in person because he was working on the road, he would always call to wish me luck. My dad has worked so many out-of-town jobs that I can’t even begin to count them, but he always made sure that my brother and I knew he was thinking of us. He would drive 14+ hours just to spend a weekend home visiting with us, and drive back the next day to get back to work. He would even take my brother and I with him on short business trips just to spend time with us on the drive. I can’t thank him enough for the opportunities he has provided me with and all the love and support he has given me.

I am also blessed with a loving, caring, hard working husband that shows our son what it means to work hard for what you want and need. He works around the clock to provide for our family, and hardly complains. Even when its 85 degrees and he’s worked 12+ hours in the sun, he will come home and throw a football with our son. I don’t know how he does it. He became a father at a young age, and has worked tirelessly since that moment to make our life the best it can be. I am unbelievably thankful that my sons have someone so great to look up to.

And, finally, to my brother who just became a father on Friday. Even though he is two years younger than me, he is someone I have looked up to for many years. He has always been so much more patient than I will ever be, and I’ve always known he would make the best father. Now that he has a little girl of his own, I can’t wait to see how he grows into this new role. He is perfect for it.

Take a minute to thank your father, father in-law, husband, son, any dad in your life, to show them you appreciate all the sacrifices they have made on your behalf.
